Lovin' It Monday

This week I am lovin’ the newest addition to our family – Gus aka Gus-Gus, Guster, Gussers, Gussy, Gusterson or Gussums.


We found him on Craigslist last week and drove about 40 minutes during a rain storm into the Middle of Nowhere, Texas to meet him in a WalMart parking lot and fell instantly in love (despite the fact that the lady had him in red, white and blue striped PANTS and had SHAVED him).

He’s two years old, weighs about 25 pounds (which is gigantic for a pug), is uber chill, ignores the cats, pretty much ignores other dogs, stops doing whatever he's doing when we say "no" or "enough", has only had one accident in the house, doesn’t bark, looooves squeaky toys and just wants to snuggle. He follows us from room to room and plops down on the comfiest place he can find.

I think he's pretty much perfect other than a few little issues we need to work on along with teaching him basic obedience. I want to eventually do pet therapy with him and I think he'll do great at that.

Aaahhhh…feels good to have a dog again.

I’ll always miss Lucy but Gus Gus is beginning to fill that big black hole she left behind.
