Scenes from My Life Tuesday

As I drive home every day I find myself looking forward to reaching a certain intersection. And you might be thinking that intersection is the one that is closest to my house.

But it isn't.

It is the intersection where the birds live.

Or more precisely where the birds go to hang out and socialize before flying away in ginormous flocks to roust for the evening. I don't know why but I find all of the birds gathered together mysterious and mesmerizing. I am completely fascinated by them.

I love to watch them sit on their wires. I love to watch them fly to and fro from this line to another trying to find their "spot". But most of all I love the moment when all of a sudden something signals to them that it is time and then off they go in one big cloud of swirling organized chaos.

That moment feels...well...it feels magical somehow. I am always so thankful that I was there to see it. However, I am not always (or ever) thankful for the presents that they sometimes drop on my windshield.

ps...the photo above shows just a small part of the "flock" of birds at that intersection. They are every where. It's crazy!

I so love watching huge flocks of birds flying - they give me a relaxing feeling. It's so pretty the way they flow!

that's awesome! I love seeing flocks of birdies as well. Over by a particular building on campus, there are TONS of HUGE buzzards. They sit statuesquely on the building and fly over head. I have no idea why they all love that one area, but I'm glad they do... (even if they are buzzards)
